OUR BACKGROUND
INDENI Energy Company Limited is a State-owned Enterprise (SOE) and it is located in Ndola on the Copperbelt Province, Zambia. INDENI is a member of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), an investments holding company established by the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ). From 1973, the company was a petroleum refinery till 2022, when Government policy changed that prompted it to transform into a bulk procurer, exporter and distributor of finished petroleum products. The overall mandate of INDENI’s business evolved from refining to being an Oil Marketing Company(OMC), aimed at filling the gap that Government’s withdrawal created in the supply of petroleum products to the Zambian market.
Over the years, INDENI has acquired massive experience and expertise both in crude oil refining, bulk storage of petroleum products and bulk depot management. Between 2000 and 2005, INDENI had the management agency to run the Zambia National Oil Company fuel terminal which is currently operated by TAZAMA Petroleum Products Limited as Ndola Fuel Terminal (NFT). During that time INDENI was responsible both for the procurement of the crude oil and finished petroleum products to supplement the shortfall in the national consumption. The crude oil was processed at INDENI Refinery while the finished products were sold directly to the market.
INDENI operates in the following business sectors among a few more energy driven areas; Importation and sale of Petroleum Products (Low Sulphur Gas oil, Petrol, JET-A1, Kerosene, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO)), Management of Storage Depots, Provision of Hospitality Services, Quality Control Services and Maintenance Services.
DEPOT MANAGEMENT
INDENI Energy boasts of the largest fuel storage capacity in a single location in Zambia and has about 50 years of experience in bulk petroleum products management.
